CloudVPS selects Mirantis to deliver innovative new OpenStack IaaS platform

CloudVPS  – founded in 2006 – was the first Cloud provider in the Netherlands to embrace OpenStack.

CloudVPS is proud to take the lead once again by selecting Mirantis – the leader in Managed Open Cloud solutions – to accelerate OpenStack deployments in the Netherlands region. With Mirantis Cloud Platform (MCP) 1.0 and its DevOps approach to infrastructure software delivery, CloudVPS will be ready to deploy new features and bring open source innovation to customers faster and more predictably.

Today, thousands of customers and channel partners, of which many are SaaS providers or software developers, maintain their cloud applications on the current OpenStack platform at CloudVPS. Due to the open source nature of OpenStack, the software has gained many new features over the past years. To take advantage of this momentum, CloudVPS decided to collaborate with Mirantis to enhance the CloudVPS OpenStack platform with the latest features and updates.

In addition to new features in OpenStack, Mirantis Cloud Platform includes capabilities that are particularly useful in a large scale environment such as CloudVPS. For example, with the MCP it is possible to perform upgrades and updates with zero downtime.

Chris de Jongh, CEO at CloudVPS: "The public cloud that we have built over the years with OpenStack has become the lifeline for many companies. We have been working hard to provide our customers a technology roadmap. In Mirantis, we found the strategic partner to help us reach our goal to offer the next level of reliable & flexible cloud hosting. The support from Mirantis exceeds our expectations.”

Iko Saadhoff, EMEA Field CTO at Mirantis, added: “With the DevOps & LMA toolchains included in Mirantis Cloud Platform, leading cloud providers like CloudVPS are achieving greater efficiency and uptime while also delivering an enhanced customer experience by accelerating access to the rapid innovation in open source software.”

CloudVPS will announce the availability of the new OpenStack platform during the third quarter of this year.
