Backing up your workstation with Duplicati

This guide details how to backup your Windows or Mac workstation to the CloudVPS Object Store using Duplicati.

In the Duplicati setup wizard, fill in all steps. When the wizard asks you to choose a place to store the backups, choose CloudFiles. For the next step, Duplicati will ask you to configure CloudFiles, enter the following data:

CloudFiles Auth Url: https://cloudfiles.objectstore.eu
CloudFiles Username: <projectid>:<username>
CloudFiles API key: <password>
Container name: <any name you like>

projectid, username and password can be found in the email you received with the details of your object store.

Download duplicati, and install it.

When you first start Duplicati, it will prompt you to either create a new backup
or restore an existing backup.

Next, Duplicati will allow you to name your backup.

Next, Duplicati will ask a password to encrypt your backups. You will not be able to restore your backup if your lose your password, so we recommend you
write it down, and store it somewhere safe.

From the possible backup services, choose CloudFiles.

In backup storage options, enter the following data:

- CloudFiles Auth Url: https://cloudfiles.objectstore.eu
- CloudFiles Username: <projectid>:<username>
- CloudFiles API key: <password>
- Container name: <any name you like>

projectid, username and password can be found in the email you received with the details of your object store.

When you go to the next step, Duplicati will offer to test the connection. Allow it to do so. If Duplicati offers to create the container, select Yes.

Under Advanced settings, leave all settings as they are.

On the final page, just select "Run backup now", and click "Finish".
